Questions

What the invoice actually says

What exactly is passed through at cost?

AHV/IV/EO, ALV, the Ausgleichskasse administration fee, the cantonal family-allowance contribution (FAK), the employer half of the BVG pension, occupational accident cover (UVG BU) and the employer half of the daily-sickness premium (KTG). Every one of them appears as its own line on the monthly invoice.

How much do those contributions come to?

Between roughly 12% and 16% of gross salary. The spread comes from the employee’s age, which sets the BVG band, and from the canton, which sets the FAK rate. The calculator on the homepage gives the exact figure for a given salary and canton.

Is the fee a percentage of salary?

No. It is a flat franc amount per person per month. A CHF 200’000 hire costs the same to administer as a CHF 80’000 hire, so it is priced the same.

What happens when someone leaves?

The fee stops at the end of the notice period. Swiss notice runs to the end of a calendar month, so the last invoice covers that month in full.
